L2TP VPN connection between windows-7 and ASA 5510

I've tried setting up a L2TP VPN connection between win7 and ASA 5510 but I get an error, The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotitations with the remote computer. Kindly suggest me probable root cause of the problem.

Can you post your configuration on your ASA? remember ASA supports L2TP over IPSec as a 3rd party VPN protocol, is this what you are setting up?

Hi Ivon,

I have successfully created L2TP VPN between windows XP and ASA but withe same user name and password and same settings on remote site (Widows-7) I am not able to create the same. That means the configuration at ASA is correct and there must be some any mismatch at remote site.

Windows 7 such as Win Vista use a stronger level of encryption, L2TP tunnel is unable to  estabrlish the tunnel since IPSec which is its transport is not being established, what cipher level are you using on your setup?
