Hi
This is my first time to aks you a question.I'm expecting for your response.
my question is :
our company use a L2TP access applition. there are about several thousands of terminal dial in using l2TP protocol . in order to the security and reliability, which model router(e.g 2800 or 7200) is the best choice for this application as LNS. we can take more than one router to make this role to reduce the risk, but we hope one router can accept at least 500 L2TP connections. the connections is keep up always.
Thanks
James

Hi,
in an ISP enviroment the cisco 7200 is used. I tested it with 1500 l2tp tunnels. With a NPE-G1 the cpu has 35%.

Hi,
currently I have no performance data for the 2800. But from IOS perspective you can also use the 2800 as LNS.
