Re: Multiple VPN tunnels using different VPN clients

Hello All,

I would like to know whether this scenario is possible. I have both

Nortel Contivity VPN client and Cisco VPN client installed on my

machine with appropriate configurations. I want to connect to two

different network from home over a broadband connection.

First, I want to connect to one network (say Network A) using Nortel VPN client ( Remote End Server : Nortel Contivity server). After establishing this VPN tunnel, I want to initiate the second VPN tunnel to a different network (say Network B) using Cisco VPN client

(Remote End Server : Cisco VPN Concentrator)

or Viceversa (first Cisco then Nortel)

Is this possible in the first case, If yes please explain how does it work and advise me whether any specific setting has to be configured on client or server

side..

Cisco VPN client can do split-tunneling which should meet your requirment. I am not sure if Nortel VPN client can do that too.

Thanks for your response. I have simulated the situation what i have explained and let me paste the outputs here. As mentioned earlier, there are two different scenarios possible for the issue i have mentioned. My Requirement is that I have to connect to my office network from home via VPN and after that connect to my customer's network via VPN.( I cannot directly VPN to my customer's network from home due to access restrictions and other security issues.). I tried the following two scenarios..

Scenario 1

I have a PC which is connected to internet over a dial-up connectivity. First I connect to my office network(say network A) via VPN using the Nortel VPN client. After the VPN connection is established successfully,my requirement is to connect to my customer's network via VPN. So I tried connecting to my customer's network(say network B) via VPN using Cisco VPN client. In this case, Cisco VPN client hangs during the initialization stage itself. This is what i got when checked the logs of Cisco VPN client

Scenario 2

First I connect to my office network(say network A) via VPN using the Cisco VPN client. After the VPN connection is established successfully,my requirement is to connect to my customer's network via VPN. So I tried connecting to my customer's network(say network B) via VPN using Nortel VPN client. In this case, the Nortel VPN client gave the following error message

"create socket failed with 10048

Failed to open a socket. Unable to try connection. click connect to try again"

In both the scenarios it doesn't allow me to do what I wanted.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome...Please do let me know if there is any clarification needed for my explanation.
