PIX VPN client has weird issue

Hello,

I have a pix501 that several clients are VPNing into. The issue is that when they open up their clients (ver. 4.602.0011), there is a default name in the username text field. Every time they try to vpn in they have to remove the name and put their own name in. I've tried this on an asa and i can't replicate. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The issue could be with the .pcf file for the PIX connection having the "Username" field populated. Please go to the install directory of the VPN clien on your PC.

Then go to the "Profiles" folder and then select the corresponding .pcf file for the PIX. Once you open that, you will find the "Username" field populated. delete theusername value from there and then try connecting.

Let me know if this helps!!

That did the trick. Unfortunately I have to track down several laptops to make this fix.

Thanks again.
