PPPoE VPN

Hi,

I have a pix 501 to pix506 vpn. the 501 are coonfigured with PPPoe and the 506 are configured with static IP. Evrything works fine, but i cannot resolve DNS over the connection. Any idea? it works fine when i run Static IP on the same PIX.

are you allocating IP addresses to the hosts behind the 501 PIX using the PIX inside interface as DHCP server ..?

perhaps your users are assigned the Public DNS form your ISP when connecting the PIX using PPPoE instead of using the your interna DNS .. OCuld this be your problem ..?

I have tried both DHCP and static ip on the inside interface, it doesn't work when i run PPPoE on the Pix outside interface. The problem is related to the PPPoE connection, and the way the tunnel authenticates?

I have two other Pixes with the same config, only with static IP and they run fine, i altso tried the problem Pix on static IP and it run's fine..
