Hi
I am having problems installing VPN Client 4.0.3. When installing I am getting the following error message:
Add Plugin Failed.
And after that another message:
Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
I am using an IBM Thinkpad with XP Pro SP2
There was an older version of the VPN Client (I don't know which version) which didn't uninstall properly. And I can still see the DeterministicNetworks entry in the registry.
Help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Here is the link to manually uninstall the cisco vpn client. It ought to work on win xp as well as win 2000.

Let me know if this helps, or if you still need more help.

I tried the manual un-install procedure that is posted. That did not resolve the installation problem. The following did resolve the problem.
I ran a file named traffic108.msi. It is from Deterministic Networks. This Traffic Governor 1.0 Plugin fixes the "add plugin failed" error, but I believe you need to get the file from Cisco. Deterministic Networks states to go through your system/software provider for everything. It is possible that just installing the demo versio will allow you to complete the installation. I apologize, I do not know which source my company received it from. Sorry. Please update this thread once you find where to source the file.
On to the fix. Run the traffic108.msi file. Reboot. Run the Cisco VPN client install. Reboot. Done.
Here is a link to Deterministic Networks, just in case.

Hope this helps. After being hung up on twice by Cisco reps, I wish you the best.

Thanks,
Unfortunately I don't have the original installer file. I've given up on this one and will "simply" reinstall my computer, it's going to take less time...
