Problems with Cisco AnyConnect - vpn crashes before connecting, with no error messages

Hello,

I want to use Cisco AnyConnect to connect with my univeristy's vpn, so that I may remotely access databases for sql work. However, when I type in my univeristy's vpn name to connect, Cisco AnyConnect crashes. It crashes with no error message, and doesn't even prompt me to the login in box where I would enter my credentials.

I'm running a windows 10 home system, with a McAfee firewall. The Cisco Anyconnect version is the 4.5 client.

A crash usually means a bug with the client. Try going to the same url on the browser and see if it lets you login and download a newer client. If you are the admin for the ASA/Firepower Firewall at the university, then you can download a new client image (4.6) and try it out. IF you are not, your admin should be able to help you get that.
