I use CiscoAnyConnect 4.1.00028 to connect to a Windows 2008 server via Remote Desktop. Everything works fine until i go back to my laptop (windows xp) to work on that. Then occasionally, and sometimes depending on what i run on the laptop, the remote desktop becomes unavailable (black screen), and even though the VPN says it is still connected, I can not restart the Remote Desktop to get back in. I have to disconnect the VPN, reconnect, reauthenticate, then im good again. Not sure exactly which program kills it, except one is pretty consistent - IRFanView - but others seem to do it too (last one was Outlook 2013, but not always)
any ideas or places i could keep looking? Sorry if this question has been answered before, i tried to parse the many responses on this forum and couldn't find anything similar.
