Remote upgrade for Cisco 837

Due to a Cisco bug I need to upgrade the IOS on a couple of remote ADSL connected Cisco 837's. Major problem is that there is not enough flash memory to hold existing and new images.

Does anybody have any ideas how to achieve this with minimal risk?

Hello Marc,

the 'standard' TFTP upgrade procedure will erase the flash and install the new IOS while maintaining connectivity, the connection will only be lost during the reboot. Without physical access to the router, that risk obviously remains. You could try and hook a regular PSTN telephone line up to the console port, that way, you would always be able to access the device.
