I really can't understand the concept of reverse telnetting.
I really get confused to know why is it used ??
While using it whare the configuration are stored ?? either in the router or in the modems memory
I am just waiting for a clear explination from you.

Rajesh,
Generally it is used to talk and configure a modem connected to a router's async port with AT commands.
So if you end the AT strings with &w , only then the AT strings get stored in modem's NVRAM. Otherwise its not stored anywhere.
