site to site SSL vpn with ASA 5500 series??

We have ASA 5505s, PIXen, and DLink DIR-130 routers, all work well with our PIX 515E, which we must replace.

We also have satellite Internet at two locations. High latency makes IPsec VPNs to DLinks at those sites very slow.

We have been advised by HughesNet that an SSL VPN would mitigate some of the latency issues.

However we cannot use a VPN client for the biometric timeclocks at those locations, the clocks need static IPs and are more or less 'dumb terminals.'

Can the ASA 5000 series implement site to site VPNs similar to OpenVPN or only the more comment client-server type SSL VPN connections??

Thank you, Tom

Hi Thomas,

The SSL VPN functionality on ASAs is a client/server relationship where the remote computer can connect clientless (browser) or clientbased (AnyConnect) to the ASA.

Federico.

That's what I thought...OpenVPN is the only solution then...Thank you, Tom
