Starting a Site-to-Site VPN in ASDM for ASA 5505

Hi Have created a site to site VPN between a 3rd party Juniper system and my Cisco ASA 5505. The VPN is showing as up. I have contacted my partner who can start the VPN from his juniper device and it works fine.

How do I stop and start the VPN from within the ASDM.

I'm not very familiar with the cli so prefer to use the ASDM.

Hi,

Please follow these steps to stop the tunnel:

  1. Go to Monitoring, then select VPN from the list of Interfaces
  2. Then expand VPN statistics and click on Sessions.
  3. Choose the type of tunnel you're looking for from the drop-down at the right (IPSEC Site-To-Site for example.)
  4. Click on the tunnel you wish to reset and then click Logout in order to reset the tunnel.

To start the tunnel you need to initiate actual traffic or can even use packet tracer feature from the ASDM.
