Trouble configuring VPN Client on WIN2K Desktop

I am trying to configure VPN Client on my home desktop that is on WIN2K. I get the following error as soon as I click on VPN Dialer from Start -> Programs -> Cisco Systems VPN Client -> VPN Dialer:

The VPN sub-system is not available. You will not able to make a remote connection to the IPSec server.

The IPSec Log Viewer logs the following messages:

1 09:39:14.609 07/14/02 Sev=Warning/3 DIALER/0xE3300006

GI process failed "GI_ERROR_IPC_FAILURE" (FFFFFFF8h).

2 09:39:15.515 07/14/02 Sev=Warning/3 DIALER/0xE330000C

GI get status callback timed out.

HELP!!!!

The VPN Clinet Version is 3.0.2 (rel). When I get the aforementioned prompt I click OK on the message and try logging in. After a while I get the follwing error:

System Error: Connection Manager failed to respond.
