We are in the process of upgrading our Anyconnect from 3.4 to 4.8, We've uploaded the 4.8 pkg file on the ASA and it works with Windows 7 users. a seamless upgrade
However for we have a set of Windows 10 users with version 4.7, (this was the latest when win10 project began). Windows 10 users Anyconnect refuses to connect, it says the gateway is not available. We know the gateway is up and everything is working. Once we flipped the anyconnect back to 3.4 the Windows 10 machines with 4.7 was able to connect again.
Why are windows 10 machines unable to connect and start the upgrade? is this due to tightened security on the machine or is there a compatibility issue with 4.7 ?

Hi Marvin
Apologies for not replying, but we'd found the root cause
The Windows team had to trust cisco systems as a trusted publisher, after this, it worked like a charm. Our initial change was reverted as windows 10 users were unable to connect while their Anyconnect version was different from the version on their machine.

Try a complete uninstall of AnyConnect 3.4 first. AnyConnect 4.x is definitely compatible with Windows 10 - I have used it with every release of AnyConnect and Windows 10 up through and including AnyConnect 4.9 and Windows 10 2020 update.
I have occasionally seen the installer have problem when there is some third party VPN adapter or antivirus software running that prevents it from being successful.
