Hi John,
Please check this out:
Standard Memory and Memory Requirements for the Cisco ASA Series
ASA Model | Internal Flash Memory (Default Shipping) | DRAM (Default Shipping) |
---|
Before Feb. 2010 | After Feb. 2010 (Required for 8.3 and Higher) |
---|
5505 | 128 MB | 256 MB | 512 MB |
So, you need to make sure your ASA meets this requirement.
On the other hand, the error above means that the Flash memory is full.
Check this out:
To run Version 8.3 and later in a production environment, you might need to upgrade the memory on the Cisco ASA 5505, 5510, 5520, or 5540. (For more information about memory, see the Cisco ASA Compatibility.)
Important: To upgrade from 7.x or from 8.0.x to 8.4, you must follow: 7.x ---> 8.2 ---> 8.3 ----> 8.4. Otherwise you may encounter configuration issues.
HTH.
