Hi,
I am experiencing the following problem while trying to use a Cisco VPN Client on my Windows XP Home PC: While initiating the program I recieve the message "Validation failed for ...Windows\system32\vsinit.dll You are probably missing a necessary root certificate."
I've been trying to find the solution for this googling for hours and hours and it seems that I'm not the only one who ever ran up to this, only all the solutions offered on other (and even this) forums didn't work out for me. For now I've tried:
-reinstalling the VPN Client
-reinstalling Internet Explorer 8
-update root certificates from microsoft
In just about the same topic on this forum dating 2007 https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/946080#946080 a Guest explains how to view the digital signatures from the vsinit.dll . On my computer it has a digital signature from Checkpoint Software Technologies Inc. I don't know wether that's good or not.
The PC has been out cold for some time a couple of weeks ago due to a problem with the power supply which I had to replace. It seems like the problem occured since then, while the computer has no other problems at all. At the same time we switched to using the wireless router, where before that we were still using cables. These are the only things I can think of that might cause the problem.
Please help!
Sincerely,
Anner
