I have been having a consistent problem getting my 3002 hardware client to obtain an IP address using a DHCP-based cable modem network (home network, Cox Communications is the ISP).
When I connect the public interface to a lab network with a Microsoft DHCP server the 3002 hardware client immediately obtains an IP address. When connected to the ISP I get no address. I am not having this problem with other devices that I connect to the Cox network. Cox technical support has not been able to help.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, did you discover a solution?
Thanks.

Check if the ISP is blocking the DHCP port, are you getting any error message in the log file?

The real-time logging shows only that the DHCP client request are timing out. No specific errors. The ISP's network is set up to deliver IP addresses via DHCP and when I swap out the Cisco Hardware Client and connect a Linux or Windows device directly to the network it obtains an IP with no problems. It's only the VPN Hardware client that is having the problem.
