VPN 4.0.4.B DNS problem with Redhat FC2

We're seeing a problem where from a fresh FC2 (fedora) install the vpnclient-linux-4.0.4.B-k9 works fine.

But upgrading some packages causes it to break.

Once it's broken, it still connects, and you ping by IP address, but all DNS name resolutions fail.

Here's one way to cause it:

1) install FC2 (we're using kernel 2.6.5-1.358

2) install and use the VPN client, works fine

3) upgrade kernel to kernel-2.6.6-1.435.2.1

(can use the up2date tool in the lower left navbar)

4) reboot

5) recompile and reinstall the vpn

6) reboot

7) reconnect VPN. It will connect fine but DNS is now broken.

Has anybody else seen cases where the linux VPN client gets into a mode where it can't resolve DNS ?

I have the same problem, I think the problem is with kernel-2.6.6. I am using Debian and recently updated to 2.6.6. I can connect with the VPN client, ping..but no DNS...let me know if you find a solution..and I'll let you know if I find a workaround.

We experienced the same problems with FC2 and FC3.

Installing the newest clint 4.6xx solves the DNS issues.
