I have the same problem that you describe, and I think it has to do with the MTU-Size. When I connect to my office everything seems to be ok, but as soon I do something that increases the traffic ( and the packet-size ) the connection drops. I have tried to adjust the MTU-size with the Cisco VPN-Client down to 1400 and even 576 bytes but still the connection drops. So I would be happy to get some help too.

I had a similar problem with VPN connections through DSL with our local provider. I was unable to connect to any websites on my internal network, they would just cycle. I had to adjust the MTU on the VPN client but also on the network connection for my broadband connection. I pinged my VPN gateway with a ping -l (l as in larry) mtu size in number and -f (which will tell you when your packets were fragmented.) Once I pinged sucessfully I was able to connect to these sites. FYI---I didn't need to do this for all DSL connections. Hope this helps.
