We've a lan to lan VPN connection. I want to backup this by ISDN. If the VPN goes down my ISDN is comming up on both sides but at the side where the VPN is still active it will route the packets to the VPN instead of the ISDN connection.
Any one any experience with this ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Are you running a dynamic routing protocol? If not the router is still trying to point the traffic down the VPN when it is down at one end.
I recently setup ISDN backup for a VPN using 2 1720's. I ran EIGRP with authentication over the VPN and a floating static route with an Admin distance higher (120) than that of EIGRP (Internal AD is 90)
If you debug EIGRP you can see the hello packets and see them re-establish once the ISDN is up.

Ali,
Thanks for the info, I'll try.
Sorry for the late reply, I was on Holiday.

Could you post the 1720 config?
