VPN client 5.0 and Windows 8.1

I'm hoping someone on here can help me.  I'm trying to connect to an ASA from my home office.  I installed AnyConnect 3.101 on my Windows 8.1 Pro box and it will connect the first time but never again.  I tried installing the older VPN Client 5.0 and during installation I got the BSD with a message DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION.  Any suggestions?

Typically if first connection work but second (etc.) fails it's something to do with how anyconnect treats information in the profile (downlaoded on first connection).

I suggest monitoring the logs while connecting and see if there are any noticable logs that point to the problem.  Another option is to run debugs and see if there are any signs as to why the connection fails.
