VPN Client blocks LAN connections

Hi,

I am using the wlan internet connection of my university via the Cisco VPN client. Every time I start this connection, I am not able to access my other computers which are in the normal LAN. Is there anything I can do to get access to the LAN while I am connected to the Internet through the WLAN (VPN Client)?

Try to modify your vpn client config to allow local lan access. You can do this from the vpn client gui, by opening up the connection profile for the university connection, and on one of the tabs there is a box to allow local lan use. Check that box. Note that the gateway you connect to can override your settings, and if that is the case there is not much you can do, except to explain your case to the univeristy tech support dept.
