Hi all,

I have enabled VPN on cisco pix 501.

And using cisco vpn client I am able to get connected to the office network.

However, there are two sitations, if i use the vpn client such that my computer is connected to a modem, I am able to connect to the office network.

If i use the same vpn client such that my computer is part of the network and that network connects to internet using ADSL router (lucent cell pipe). THERE IS NATTING ON THE ADSL. I am not able to get connected to my office network.

How to make a vpn connection if there is NATTING?

In the first case when I am able to connect using modem, and I am part of my office LAN, I can access resources of my office LAN but then Internet Explorer doesn't open the websites?

Please assist.

Hello..

Try giving the command "isakmp nat-traversal 20 " on the PIX and then try the IPSEC connectivity. you need to have the latest IOS for running this feature.

if you want to do internet browsing as well access the LAN resource, you need to enable split tunneling on your PIX. the command to enable it is as follows:

vpngroup abcvpn split-tunnel 100

access-list 100 permit ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 (ur internal network) 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0 (Ip pool)..

hope this helps.. all the best...
