VPN not working after Windows Update

Hello experts,

I am using  Cisco Systems VPN Client Version 5.0.07.0440.

My operating system is Microsoft Windows 10 Pro.

I know since a long time Windows does not like this VPN client and after updates I had to follow the path "uninstall, reinstall, change registry" to make it work again because it would not even connect.

After the last update of Windows this is not working anymore. I am able to connect but no access whatsoever.

The last updates:

Any idea how to tackle this and what to check? I have tried checking Windows Defender settings based on previous similar threads (though for other Antivirus) but nothing there which would work.

Thanks

I'm not surprised to see this failing once again after a recent Windows update. It has been many years since that client was end of life.

What do you connect to that requires you to use that client? Every head end device I know of supports more modern clients by now. Even a 10 year old Cisco ASA can run remote access VPN with AnyConnect / Secure Client with either SSL VPN or IPsec VPN transport.

Hi @Marvin Rhoads,

This is the VPN the customer is using so I am forced to use it.

The annoying thing is that on different PC's with same Updates it is behaving differently and I do not know how to tackle it.
