WebVPN Smart Tunnel

Hello All,

I'm trying to smart-tunnel the Citrix app for Mac OS X but am having issues. When you create a tunnel entry, it asks you App ID, OS, then process path ( in which case, the citrix app has spaces in the path on MAC). When you enter the path for citrix, it says you cannot have spaces in the path. Anyone know how to get around this or is this a TAC call?? I want to tunnel Citrix to get firefox to work with an app in our DMZ.

TIA,

Max

Hi Max,

Smart tunnel with MAC OS (32 and 64 bit) is supported only in ASA version 8.3.1and above. Are you already running 8.3.x code and still facing this issue ? We had a bug : CSCta19798 to support this feature and you can have more information regarding this at the bug toolkit using your cisco id: http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs

More info regarding smart tunnel support on 8.3.1 is here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/compatibility/asa-vpn-compatibility.html#wp160950

(note: please go through the memory requirements to run 8.3.1 code: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps6032/ps6094/ps6120/product_bulletin_c25-586414.html

Let me know if this helps,

Cheers,

Hi Rudrush,

We have already completed the upgrade of memory (2gb) and code (8.3.2) on a pair of 5520's. I could not see the bug due to it being an "Internal" resource. What was the nature of the bug if you don't mind me asking?? This seems like a really simple fix, when you add the application for the smart tunnel, it simply says "Path cannot contain any spaces" and the path to the Citrix client on MAC has spaces ex. /Applications/blah/Citrix Web Client/blah/Citrix.

Thanks,

Hi Max,

Please use quotation marks around the smart tunnel list, and let me know if it works.

Reference link: http://www/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa80/configuration/guide/webvpn.html#wp1089190

(check the example given in table Table 39-6 for MAC platform)

Let me know if this works,

Cheers,

Rudresh V
