Why does PIX firewall stops TCP based VPN tunneling?

Hi!

Does anyone know why the PIX stops VPN traffic when in TCP transparent tunneling mode? What is the technical reason for this? I am very curious why this is the case....

It seems that the PIX needs to have ESP 50 and UDP 500 open either way (transparent tunneling will not work on PIX)...

Please let me know why or documents I can read about this issue....

David, I'm waiting for a solution from Cisco because pix doesn't support tcp and udp based tunnelling, while VPN3000 do it.
