Windows 7 wireless manager, iPass and Cisco VPN

we would like to achieve the following:

-          Manage Wireless networks only through iPass

-          user should only reach the Internet through VPN, not directly through a public wireless or broadband connection

In Windows XP it was possible to set a checkmark that wireless connections are managed by a 3rd party tool.

That is not possble in Windows 7.

I know can manage wireless through iPass and the Windows Wireless Manager.

When I do a netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wireless Network Connection",

also the wireless connection on the iPass disappear.

However the difference is:

- Through iPass, the Cisco VPN opens first and I can only connect through Cisco VPM to the Corp network and the to the Internet.

- Through the Windows wireless manager I can directly connect to the Internet, which I do not want to allow the user

Could anybody please advice on a solution?

Thanks,
Franck

Hi,

i am still looking for a solution on this.

iPass states that they will manage everything through the Windows Wireless Manager.

Now the issue is that when I open a home and public wireless connection through iPass, Cisco VPN is called and I can connect to the Internet only

when I established the Cisco VPN connection.

When I connect to the home or public wireless through the Windows Wireless Manager I get immediately to the Internet.

Appreciate any hint on this,

Franck
