WOL over VPN

I am using VPN client version 5.0.07 to connect to my work. I tried to wake my laptop from home but it did not work. I have tested my laptop before and it is set properly for that. I tested it from another computer when both were on the same network (no vpn) and it worked fine.

Is there anything else I need to do to wake my laptop remotely when vpn is in place?

The typical WOL will not work on VPN, which in it's nature is a non-broadcast medium. In fact a L2 broadcast on it's own will/should not pass traffic selection logic.

You can try to pack the magic packet into a subnet directed broadcast packet but it will depend on the headend device how and if to process it.
