Firepower Licencing

We have a 5516 with Malware and URL filtering licences applied. If I create a URL block, it works, but it I create a category block, I get the error 'This rule requires a Control licence'.

Licencing shows 1x URL, 1x Malware, but 0x Protection and 0x Control.

If I read the Cisco licencing for the FirePower module, it says 'URL Filtering - Category and reputation-based URL filtering.

The Control licence also states included with module.

Why is URL filtering working, but category filtering isn't?

Hi,

Don't know the specific case for which one URL action would work and the other would not, but you shoud anyway have the control license (has to be checked when you place the order).

Regarding the Malware and URL licenses, both require the Protection license to work.
