Hard Disk Failure ??

Hello all,

got this error msg from one of the ironports, what does this mean ?

RAID ALERT: RAID

disk 0:FAILURE - device detached; RAID dis...

The Warning message is:

A RAID-event has occurred:

RAID disk 0: FAILURE - device detached

RAID disk 0: removed from ar0 disk0

RAID disk 1: WARNING - WRITE_DMA taskqueue timeout - completing request

directly

RAID disk 0: mirror write failed.

RAID disk 1: completing I/O on mirrored disk.

RAID disk 0: mirror write failed.

RAID disk 0: detached

RAID disk 1: WARNING - WRITE_DMA48 freeing taskqueue zombie request

has disk0 failed completely??

Back up your config off the box so that you have it.

Then contact support. Depending on which unit you have they'll send you a new unit or a drive...

I had an S160 lose a drive (or some other drastic RAID issue), they sent me a new unit.

When I got it, I ran through the setup wizard enough to get it online, and rejoined to the domain (you might have to delete the machine account in the domain), then restored the config and it was happy.

Other than the pain of having to get a new unit shipped out, it was actually pretty easy...
