We have been experiencing this for some time. If a user tried to access a website we are filtering, they will get a webpage stating that Access to teh Website has been denied which is fine, however if a valid website which we know is allowed happens to be down when the user tries to access it they get the same access denied message which is confusing to the user and time consuming for IT as we are checking why the site would be blocked just to find out we are really not blocking it.
Is there a way to display a different message if the website is allowed but is down for whatever reason?
Thanks

Thank you Chris and thank you for your reply.... You are correct, we fixed this a few months ago but I forgot I had this question posted. We use a custom page instead of the Ironport built in pages. Once I figured this out we were able to resolve the problem.
Thanks

Hi Raul,
If the website is down you should get a GATEWAY_TIMEOUT.
Has someone been playing around with custom pages?
If you get notification code and bring up the specific block what is it saying there?
IIf you want to check the page that displays for the gateway timeout connect to the WSA via FTP and navigate to /configuration/eun/en (if you are using a different language change the final directory as appropriate) then look for the ERR_GATEWAY_TIMEOUT file.
Thanks
Chris
