New Gmail Confidential Mode - AVC Block

Tim Jackson

Gmail now has a new feature where you can set options for an email to "expire". The content of the email is basically a link back to Google. The domain you are taken to, confidential-mail.google.com is classified by the AVC scanner is WebMail where the URL Category is Search Engines. Since we block the WebMail AVC category, users are unable to read messages sent from Gmail in this way.

1. I feel this domain should not be classified as WebMail.

2. Is there a way to manually re-categorize it on the WSA much like we can do with custom categories?

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,

If we are talking about on changing classification of AVC, recommend to contact Cisco TAC for them to request this for you as they need to open a defect on AVC.

However if we are talking on URL re-categorisation, customer can request for re-categorisation using below portal (it will require your CCOid to log in):

https://securityhub.cisco.com/web/submit_urls

Hope this helps
