RTMP through IronPort WSA

Hi All,

We are trying to access a few live streaming sites throuhg the WSA. The WSA is configured in Explicit Forward mode.

The issue is that the access is not working and I think the streaming sites are working on RTMP. I understand that the IronPort WSA does not support RTMP.

Is there any way i can get this working through the Proxy. Please suggest. Thank you.

Cheers,

Faiz

Hi Faiz,

RTMP is not supported. There is also no workaround for RTMP to work through the WSA.

Hi Faiz,

As Erik said, RTMP is not supported on WSA.

But, if you want to block real time streaming video content, you can try to do this on your corporate firewall by blocking TCP traffic with default RTMP destination port 1935.

On the same manner, if you would like to allow usage of RTMP, you should create access-list line on your corporate FW/router that will allow TCP traffic with destination port eq 1935.

On the other hand, if destination media streaming server uses RTMPT protocol then you should be able to see the request in WSA, as requests are tunneled inside HTTP.

Best regards,

Ana
