Webex Events setting "Optimize bandwidth uage for attendees on the same network"

There is a user setting available in Control Hub  under Webex Meetings advanced user settings, in the Webex Events section to  "Optimize bandwidth usage for attendees on the same network".

In our deployment this setting is greyed out and can't be enabled, does anyone have any info on how this setting works and/or how it can be enabled?  We are looking to stream an event to several hundred internal devices, so any bandwidth savings we can make at our internet gateway would be beneficial.

Hello Nick,

This setting used to be there in older versions of Webex to provide multicast capabilities, but it has been disable for some time now, it is no longer an option that can be enabled AFAIK.

Thanks Andres.  I haven't been able to find any figures on per-attendee bandwidth usage for Webex Events, do you know if it's the same as Webex Meetings?

It is the same, the underlying architecture for WebEx services is common across all Cisco WebEx meeting services (Meeting Center, Training Center, Event Center, and Support Center)
