Reduce bandwidth consumption by showing only Host Cam

Hello,

I am an University student and I have to attend exams using the WebEx platform. During exams professors ask us to turn on our webcams and that means 20+ cameras are active and my own camera starts lagging: my video interrupts and the professor can't see me anymore. Is there a way to only download the host camera? I don't care about seeing other students while i take the exam, the most important thing is that my webcam stays online fluidly. What can i do?

I recommend that your faculty member ask all of the students to mute their mics and then you can select single view. This should make it so that only your faculty member is on screen. I don't know if this will significantly improve bandwidth efficiency, but it should give you the layout you requested.
