Cannot start meeting as a host, only join meeting as a participant

I'm logged into the app with my free account.
I click on "Start".
The meeting window opens. It's "Connecting...". There is a "Start Meeting" button, but it's grayed out.
After a couple of seconds, my Personal Room is created, but now the button that used to say "Start Meeting" instead says "Join Meeting".
When I click on "Join Meeting" I join as a participant, and not a host. I want to be the host.
How do I create a meeting where I am the host?
1. Start
2. Connecting
3. Join Meeting
4. Notify Host
