Linux app sound issues

I'm super excited about the Linux version of the Webex app. It works well so far and is a fair start. However, I'm not excited about the screeching death weasel noises that come from my laptop when attempting to use calling or other audio features.

I realize I'm running it on Fedora 34 which is not officially supported, but does any one know the supported sound system/cards? Does it need to be PulseAudio or something? I'm not going to switch to Ubuntu or RHEL/CentOS

I got a similar problem even though it had worked at some stage under Fedora 34 here. Now I got bad sound quality and I do not know how to analyse it further...
