Today I was having my ethernet cable connected to my laptop via a USB LAN adaptor I had been using on another laptop before. My internet connection (VPN) was flawless and I joined a webex meeting with my colleagues.
At first sight everything seemed to work, we were able to chat and I saw the microphone icons for each participant update properly - but I could not get an audio connection. After a few retries I switched to dial-in audio. After a while I understood from my colleagues that another participant had started sharing video, but I was not getting any hint from my webex interface that it happened.
I left the meeting, plugged the ethernet cable to the LAN port of my laptop, joined in again and voilà, I could participate without any problems.
My questions: Is this a bug? Do I have to tell the Webex application anything about the ethernet device in use?
Might it be a VPN + ethernet adaptor related issue?
Thanks for any thoughts.

If someone else should have the same problem: colleagues from ITD said it probably is a VPN and external ethernet adaptor related issue.
Even so I think Webex should find a way to notify the user that shared content will not be visible, similar to the warning that it could not set up the computer audio connection.
