Virtual Backgrounds Suddenly Not Available on iMac

Hi,

I've been using virtual backgrounds on my iMac successfully since they became available for my platform in the late summer.  Suddenly, last week, Webex meetings did not offer me the capability to use a virtual or blurred background.  My computer and its software conform to Cisco's requirements for virtual backgrounds.  I have enough RAM and VRAM, and my processor is fast enough.  I reinstalled the Webex software, and that didn't help.  Virtual backgrounds will still work on my MacBook Pro, so I'm sure that our administrators haven't turned the capability off.  What can I do?

I have the same issue. Reading the topic, it may be related to the age of my imac processor (i5, 4 Core but gen 3 (2013) with a minimim of Gen 6 needed), but as it was working for both blurring and background images, I assume Cisco decided to code in this restriction to protect from poor user experience.

Can Cisco clarify if this was a choice made and if there will be an end user option to enable and carry the risk?

I am having the same issue.  Virtual background option is missing. It was there last week prior to the upgrade.

Here are the specs of my Imac.  The only idea I have is that the CPU does not meet the I5: 6000 minimum.  It worked fine on all versions prior to 40.9.4.6.  I wish Cisco could come out with a statement on this.

I too am having this issue and created an account to specifically post about this. Was working fine a week and a half ago, and now the option for Virtual Backgrounds has disappeared completely.

I too have version 40.9.4.6, I'm on a Quad-Core iMac running Catalina, with 16GB or RAM, so none of that should be an issue. As I said, was working fine, now it's not even a choice for me.

I have the same problem too. It looks like the problem appears after the latest update (version 40.9.4.6).
