VoIP Installer for Webex meetings

I have two questions regarding audio for Webex Meetings:

 

1.  Why isn't computer audio always a choice?  We often have times when telephone audio is the only choice available. 

 

2.  Why do we have to download the VoIP installer to use computer audio now (when it is available)?

Please see response to your queries:

1.  Why isn't computer audio always a choice?  We often have times when telephone audio is the only choice available. 

Cisco Webex Meeting provides four options for the audio:

a. Use computer for audio

b. Call in 

c. Don't connect to audio

d. Call me (Optional if you have Callback feature purchased)

These options are always available you when you join the meeting. If you are not seeing these options, please post the screenshot.

2.  Why do we have to download the VoIP installer to use computer audio now (when it is available)?

If you join meeting using Webex Meeting App then you don't need to download and install any other plugin for audio. But if you are joining the meeting using web browser, then browser will display a pop-up to activate Microphone and Camera. Make sure to remember your settings to avoid this pop-up all the time.
