Webex Public Spaces

I work at a large university, and we use Webex's instant messaging as our primary form of inter-office communication (aside from email), and we have various groups across campus that need to quickly disseminate information (and it's a hassle to collect everyone in various groups emails for distribution lists, because there are dozens and dozens of committees and senates etc).

Ideally, I would like to be able to create a public webex space that anyone in the organization can find when searching public spaces, but that when they join it, it is view-only.

Example: our Staff Senate likes to keep all interested staff abreast of events on campus, so it would be nice to have a space where they can post updates about events, flyers, etc. I want anyone on campus to be able to join this group to VIEW these updates posted by select Staff Senate members, but I do not want anyone else to be able to post in this space. Making a team is not ideal, because I do not want the onerous task of adding every single staff member on campus to it (as well as not wanting to add staff members who are not interested).

I have googled this question posed in so many different ways, yet I can find almost no forum posts AT ALL about public webex spaces and their various uses. I know private spaces can be moderated to a degree, and I know teams can be created and spaces created for those teams. These options are not ideal.

Public spaces are quite new in Webex, therefore you'd probably not find that much ablut them. https://help.webex.com/6kmeef/ is probably a good start to learn about them.

Beside public spaces, you may also try a common moderated announcement space and adding EURL (https://eurl.io/ or eurl@webex.bot) to it as a moderator. It is a public service that adds people to the space via a sharable link. You may restrict access to several domains. Maybe that's worth a try for you?
