Important Information on Debug Commands




Here are some important pointers in order to capture the debugs. 


- Please make sure that the following commands are configured on the router:


service timestamps debug datetime msec

service timestamps log datetime msc

service sequence-numbers

terminal exec prompt timestamp (from exec prompt)

-      terminal no monitor ---- use “termimal monitor” to display debug command output and system error messages to a telnet session.

-      no logging console------use “ logging console “ to display debug command output and system error messages to the console by severity level

-      logging buffered----------- to specify the logging buffer as a destination for system logging (syslog) messages

-      debug ip packet
