Resolution

When using any of the security features discussed in the Setting System Parameters section and  Setting Network Security Parameters section of Configuring the Client Adapter   both the client adapter and the Access Point (AP) to which it associates must be set appropriately. The Service Set Identifier (SSID) and authentication settings must match.

To ensure that your client adapter is configured with the proper SSID and authentication settings, contact the system administrator.

Note: Pay special attention to the use of strong passwords. These minimize the possibility of a successful dictionary attack. These are some characteristics of strong passwords:

  • A minimum of ten characters

  • A mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters

  • At least one numeric character or one non-alphanumeric character (for example, !#@$%)

  • No form of the user's name or user ID

  • A word that is not found in the domestic or foreign dictionary
