Core Issue
After loading the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) drivers for the client adapter, the PC freezes up. This is caused by an Interrupt Request (IRQ) conflict.
Resolution
Uninstall the PCI cards and put the client adapter in first or install the card in a different slot. If the PC freezes/hangs when Windows 98/2000/ME starts and is not able to boot in safe mode, this indicates that Windows is trying to place all PCI devices on the same IRQ.
Note: Try upgrading the wireless card driver and also PCI controller driver [for desktop computer]. Also remove the files netx500.inf and netx500.pnf & oemX.inf and oemX.pnf before reinstalling.
