Core Issue
The Access Point (AP) or bridge temporarily disables the Domain Name System (DNS) when it deems the server to be having problems. When an AP or bridge is unable to connect to the DNS server, it disables DNS lookups and issues the following message:
(Warning): Repeatedly failed to connect to DNS Server.
Temporarily DISABLING DNS lookups for 5 minutes.
The informational message that follows appears in the AP/bridge logs when lookup is subsequently re-enabled:
(Warning): RE-ENABLING DNS lookups. Lookups were suspended 5 minutes after repeated failures to connect to a DNS Server.
Resolution
If you see these messages recurring regularly, ensure that the AP/bridgecan pass traffic to other hosts on the network. Also, ensure that the DNS server is accessible by hosts other than the AP/bridge.
