Core Issue

The root and non-root bridges cannot associate with each other. The status of the non-root bridge radio is RESET, and the protocol is DOWN.

Resolution

This issue is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCsb08590.

As a workaround, perform these steps:

  1. Download Cisco IOS  12.3(7)JA or later from Cisco.com as a "recovery image."

  2. Issue the archive command or use the GUI in order to download the "recovery image" into the BR1410 Flash.

  3. Issue a command similar to the one listed in order to recover the radio:

    bridge#dot11 dot11Radio 0 recovery-fw flash:c1410-k9w7-mx.123-7.JA/6501.img

Note: Issue the dir Command-Line Interface (CLI) command in order to verify the actual filenames.

  4. Issue the archive command or use the GUI in order to reload the desired code into the bridge.

Note: There is the option to stay on Cisco IOS 12.3(7)JA rather than fall back to version 12.3(4)JA, or to apply version 12.3(4)JA.
