Resolution

Unfortunately, Wireless LAN Solution Engine (WLSE) does not support any device that is converted from lightweight to autonomous mode, even when it is already on Cisco IOS . The reason for this problem is that, lightweight access points (APs) were made to be managed by the wireless control system (WCS) and the autonomous APs were made to be managed by the WLSE, and this is written on the bootloader for each AP, which no one can change. Even when APs are converted, you can have that access point work as an autonomous, and configure it on Cisco IOS, you are never able to manage them with the WLSE.

Refer to the Using WLSE Configuration Templates for Network Management Set up section of Configuring Access Points for Network Management for more information on WLSE configuration.
