AIR-CAP2602I-A-K9 convert to Autonomous mode

I have managed to get a static IP on the box.  However, when I go to access it from the web interface I get the following message:  "The AP is not in Flexconnect mode.".  I have searched for instructions on turning on Flexconnect.  However, all of the instruction for the CLI are the same and do not tell what mode you have to be in to execute these commands. I have not been able to get the "config AP Mode Flexconnect" command to work or even what mode I need to be in to execute  it.  I do not want to us a controller to manage this AP.  Can someone help me with this issue?
