Dear community,
I have configured a WAP571 with two tagged VLANs, the standard one for members and one for guests.
The standard is the management VLAN. I noticed an extreme drop of speed in the standard VLAN for no apparent reason. After a lot of experiments I shifted the management VLAN to the guest VLAN, and guess what?!? The speed of the standard VLAN became absolutely normal and the guest VLAN dropped extremely in speed.
Does anybody have an explanation or a solution for that speed drop? Might this be a Cisco bug?
Kind regards,
Bernd

Hello Haehl,
Please upgrade to the latest firmware version 1.1.0.3 (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/wireless/wap571-wireless-ac-n-premium-dual-radio-access-point-poe/model.html#~tab-downloads ) and then reconfigure the WAP as it was initially. Don't enable band steer and channel separation at this point.

Martin

Hello Bernd,
Did you configure Captive Portal as a Guest network or you have two regular VLANs mapped to SSIDs? Are those both on the same radio 2.4GHz or 5GHz or not? Have you enabled channel isolation and/or Band Steer? Does a restart fix the issue?
We haven't issued such a bug with the WAP571 so far.

Martin

Dear Martin,
I have two regular VLANs mapped to SSIDs, both operating as well on 2.4 and 5 GHz. The other WAP is working perfectly fine with the same configuration btw. Neither channel separation nor band steer is enabled, should I try that? A restart did not fix the issue. Reboot to factory settings and new configuration was not tried yet.
Thanks for any help!
Kind regards,
Bernd

Dear Martin,
indeed this AP was delivered with an old firmware version. It is 1.0.1.12.
Thank you very much for that hint, I'll try it with the new firmware and will give a feedback if it has worked.
Kind regards,
Bernd

Dear Martin,
after firmware upgrade the issue disappeared. It seems as everything works perfectly fine now. Thank you very much for your help.
But now i have another problem: The administration surface is now very different, and I don't figured out how i can now change the administration VLAN... Any help is welcome!
Kind regards,
Bernd
