external antenna connectors on the 1200 versus integrated antenna on the 1100, plus the 1100 has no console port.
If this is for practice in a home lab, I'd look for a 350 on ebay instead of either of the newer models. Once you get it upgraded to IOS, they're all pretty much the same, except that a 350 can't be a WDS server.
